Disney Investor Day 2020 Star Wars News

Today was the Disney 2020 Investor Day conference where Disney basically shows their investors how they're going to make money. There is a lot of financial stuff talked about as well as numerous numbers and business things that I really don't know much about. What really matters is that Disney announced a lot of upcoming projects. Now as Disney is home to numerous houses of content, I think it's best to tackle those houses individually. So, this is the Disney Investor Day 2020 Star Wars news:

Disney Investor Day 2020 Star Wars Shows

The Mandalorian Season 3 - I think this has already been confirmed elsewhere but they showed a teaser and then talked about spinoffs coming from the series. They started with this sizzle real. The Mandalorian is on Disney+.

Rangers of the New Republic - A new original series set within the timeline of The Mandalorian, coming to Disney+. If I remember correctly Cara Dune is a Ranger, so this could feature her. Though her recent social presence is causing audiences to want less of her. Who knows.

Ahsoka - a new original series starring Rosario Dawson set within the timeline of The Mandalorian, coming to Disney+. Ahsoka is arguably the coolest Jedi in the Star Wars continuity, and she is finally getting her own series. This is the most important and impactful news from the Star Wars announcements in my opinion.

Star Wars: Visions - an original series of animated short films that celebrate the Star Wars galaxy through the lens of the world's best Japanese anime creators. Coming 2021 to Disney+. Considering the amount of Anime Star Wars videos I've watched on YouTube, this makes perfect sense. I'm hoping for a lightsaber battle from the likes of Manglobe and Shinichirō Watanabe.

Andor - an original series set in the Star Wars Universe, coming 2022 to Disney+. Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor from Rogue One to helm his own series based on his character's life prior to the movie. I'm assuming. It would be pretty weird for it to take place after the movie.

Obi-Wan Kenobi - an original series taking place 10 years after the events of Revenge of the Sith, coming to Disney+. Hayden Christensen is returning as Darth Vader as he joins Ewan McGregor in this highly anticipated series. Honestly, the only thing that bothers me is that they used his full name as the series title when the other two shows prior used one name. The inconsistency bothers me. Ahsoka, Andor... Obi-Wan Kenobi. Just throws it off.

The Bad Batch - an all-new animated original series from Lucasfilm animation, coming soon to Disney+. The polish of the trailer has me guessing it will come out in 2021. The Bad Batch were introduced in the final season of The Clone Wars and were instant fan favorites. The possibilities of bridging events and stories from the prequel trilogy, original trilogy, and the Clone Wars and Rebels series has me extremely hyped for this series. Not to mention the incredible cast of characters. This series is going to be great.

Lando - an original series is coming to Disney+. Justin Simien is in the early stages of development. Unsure if Donald Glover and/or Billy Dee Williams involvement as of yet.

The Acolyte - a new Star Wars series is coming to Disney+. Lesly Headland is bringing viewers into a galaxy of shadow secrets and emerging dark-side powers in the final days of the High Republic era.

A Droid Story - is a special Star Wars adventure from Lucasfilm Animation and Lucasfilm's visual effects team, Industrial Light & Magic, coming to Disney+. This epic journey will introduce fans to a new hero who will be guided by R2-D2 and C-3PO.

Disney Investor Day 2020 Star Wars Movies

Rogue Squadron - A new feature film directed by Patty Jenkins! The personal attachment and story reveal really made an impact. The film is scheduled for Christmas Day 2023.

Untitled Star Wars Film directed by Taika Waititi - In contrast to Patty Jenkins' profound and heartfelt announcement, another Star Wars feature film was said to be in development with Taika Waititi as the director.

Other Disney Investor Day 2020 Star Wars Things

Willow - an original series from LucasFilm starring Warwick Davis, with pilot directed by Jon M. Chu, is coming 2022 to Disney+. I don't know anything about Willow.

My Star Wars Wishes

My big wish was an announcement for a third Mandalorian spinoff that features Ming-Na Wen's Fennec Shand and Temuera Morrison's Boba Fett. But there's always D23 and Star Wars Celebration for more news.

Another one I'd be all about is a Mandalorian spinoff starring Katee Sackhoff's Bo-Katan Kryze and also Sabine Wren from Rebels. I think it's possible.
