Hulu and Disney+ are cracking open the mystery with the release of the first look images and teaser poster for their upcoming original crime thriller Nine Puzzles. The psychological suspense series premieres with its first six episodes on May 21, 2025, exclusively on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ globally. Three more episodes will drop on May 28, with the final two arriving on June 4, rounding out the gripping 11-episode season.
A Puzzle-Driven Thriller Rooted in Trauma

Nine Puzzles centers on Yoon Ena, a high school student whose life is upended when she discovers the dead body of her uncle—alongside a single, ominous puzzle piece. With no memory of how she arrived at the crime scene and unable to provide any answers to law enforcement, Ena becomes the prime suspect in her uncle’s murder.
Ten years later, Ena, now a brilliant criminal profiler, finds herself pulled back into a chilling series of murders—each crime scene eerily connected by the presence of another lone puzzle piece, just like the one from her past.
Masters of the Craft

Leading the series is acclaimed actress Kim Dami (Itaewon Class, Our Beloved Summer) as Yoon Ena, bringing intensity and depth to a woman haunted by her past and determined to uncover the truth. She’s joined by Son Sukku (My Liberation Notes) as a tenacious detective, Kim Sungkyun (Reply 1988) as a veteran investigator, and Hyun Bongsik (The Roundup: No Way Out) in a supporting role that promises to add further intrigue to the mystery.
Nine Puzzles is directed by Yoon Jongbin (The Spy Gone North) and written by Lee Eunmi, known for her skill in weaving complex narratives. Together, they aim to deliver a slow-burn mystery full of tension, psychological depth, and shocking revelations. The storytelling is expected to blend methodical police procedural elements with a character-driven emotional core.
Building Global Buzz

With a release strategy that rolls out episodes weekly in chunks, Nine Puzzles is set to dominate watercooler conversations for weeks. The series marks another major international project positioned to reach a global audience thanks to Disney’s worldwide streaming presence. Given the pedigree of its cast and creators, and the show's layered premise, Nine Puzzles is poised to become the next must-watch K-drama thriller.
